Monsters vs. Aliens

We took the kids to see Monsters vs. Aliens in 3D tonight. They both liked it and other than Addie constantly asking what was happening or what was going on, it went really good. Asher stayed awake the whole time and was surprisingly good. It was a pretty funny movie, I could have done without the 3D though. I didn't like wearing the glasses and neither did Ryan. Sadie's were still too big even with the added foam pieces that they put on for kids. The girls had a great time and Sadie just about polished off the GINORMOUS bucket of popcorn that Ryan got for them....she can really put it away!

Spring Break in Idaho Falls

So most people tend to go where it is warm for spring break....not the Sedgwick's, we decided to head north to Idaho Falls to visit our best friends Cam and Britney Christensen. We headed out Friday afternoon and made it in three hours. First stop Grandma Dar's and Grandpa Les's (Brit's parents) who were nice enough to let us stay at their house since Cam and Brit ran out of rooms when Ryan was born last year. We visited for a bit until it was time to head over to Brandi and Aaron's for dinner (Brit's sister and brother-in-law). Brandi made fabulous Chile Verde and we watched the Ute's get their butt's kicked in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament.

Saturday morning it was off to the North Hy Way Cafe for breakfast and Grandma Dar was nice enough to keep all of the kids so that the parents could enjoy breakfast in peace. That evening, Ryan made a fabulous pork roast in his Big Easy Infrared Turkey Fryer. It was a hit with everyone and of course Les concocted up a fabulous mustard to have with it. That night, we went back to Cam and Brit's to watch Twilight. It was the first time that I had seen it and I liked it. Ryan watched Pinocchio with the kids, he had a bad attitude about Twilight before he even started to watch it.

Today after checking out of Hotel Barlow, we headed back to Cam and Brit's for lunch which was left over pork from the previous night. Les whipped up a GREAT barbecue sauce and we had pulled BBQ pork sandwiches.

We didn't go anywhere other than between the three houses but we had a great time. The kids played constantly (Addie was able to be with her boyfriend Mikey) and all the adults had a great time visiting and sharing stories. Aaron's microwaved boiled egg story was particularly funny as well as Brandi's dining room table flying out of the back of a truck and landing on the freeway.

Thank you to the Barlow, Newton and Christensen families for putting us up, feeding us and pretty much adopting us into your family. Thanks to Grandma Dar and Grandpa Les who treat our kids as if they were their own grandchildren, we appreciate all that you do.

Can't wait for Island Park this summer....it is going to be a lot of FUN!

Of course I only took about three pics the whole time I was there....

What the ....

Last Wednesday Ryan and I took the kids to the Ute basketball game. We usually park at the football stadium and ride trax to the Huntsman Center because the kids love riding on the train. After the game we were waiting for the train to come and they announced that there would be a Salt Lake train in 4 minutes that only had a few cars but there would be a Sandy train 1 minute after that and it would have a lot more cars. So the first train comes and we tell Addie that we are going to wait because it is already packed. I watched Addie watch the train leave and then she turned towards the tracks and sat staring at them. All of the sudden out of nowhere she says, "what in the HELL are we waiting for?" Ryan and I looked at each other with eyes wide and then we both busted up laughing. This is not the first time she has sworn nor will it be the last but it was so funny and I didn't get mad at her because it is me that she learned it from. Addie never ceases to surprise us and take us back with her choice of words and how she always uses them correctly.
Go Utes!
