Sadie's 6th Birthday

Sadie turned 6 on December 17th!  They are allowed friend birthday parties on their even birthday's so she was VERY excited this year.  The day before her birthday, she woke up with the stomach flu and spent the entire day throwing up.  It was so sad, she was supposed to celebrate her birthday at school that day due to the next day being the Christmas party.  She insisted on getting dressed and that was as far as we got.  She slept most of the day (when she wasn't throwing up) and seemed to be a little better by that night.  The next morning she bounced up and seemed to be better.  We got her all ready, she threw up but insisted on going to school to take her treat and participate in the school sing and party.  We decided she could go and try it.  I was hoping she would do okay because her party was to be that night too.  She made it, she didn't throw up and seemed in good spirits.  When we got home, she laid in my bed all day until it was time for her party.  She was excited, but you could tell that she didn't feel that great.  She wanted to go to Chuck E. Cheese for her party and that is what we did.  She had a good time, she would go play a few games and then come back to the table and sit for awhile, then play a few more.  In the end, it was a success and we sure love our Sadester Woo.
She wanted a panda cake

She had been asking for "high heel boots." Luckily these were high enough.

Asher, Asher, Asher....

This is how I found Asher in his bed a few nights ago. He is one of those kids who likes to sleep with EVERYTHING! The items he had chosen for that night were his baby, his mini football helmet, baby Minnie, a puzzle and an American flag. He of course had his "recipe box" full of plugs (for those of you not familiar with that term, that is what we call binkies in our family).  He has to have a plug in his mouth and then usually holds one in each hand with the nipple of the plug between his index and middle finger.  He will then alternate them throughout the night.  Notice how he has obviously done this already as one of his plugs is resting on his chest.  How kids sleep with this much crap is beyond me, but at least he sleeps through the night right?

Happy Halloween

This year for Halloween, Ryan was a football coach, I was a football coach's wife, Easton was his assistant coach, Asher was his football player, Sadie was Caterina and Addie was a skeleton.

Easton is wearing my dad's wig
 I painted Sadie's face myself

As usual my family came over for homemade enchilada's and trick or treating.  I of course didn't get any pictures of that, I was too busy holding my two new nephews.  It was a successful night, Sadie couldn't even carry her candy bag at the end of the night it was so heavy.
We had a great night, Halloween keeps getting more fun the older my children get.

Utes look bad but my kids look RAD!!!

I know that title is pretty corny but I don't care!  It was homecoming for the U on Saturday and I had the kids all decked out in their red for the game.  They all had stickers on their faces (which they LOVE) and just looked so cute!  My department had a tailgate before the game and provided everything!  We went and ate, the kids played some games, they gave out necklaces and signs (which my kids LOVED).  Afterwards we headed down to the game.  Asher LOVES the games.  He does NOT love Swoop (or any mascot) and tells us that he is not scared but that Diet is.  The kids were so good at the game, they are finally getting used to them.  The Utes sucked it up pretty bad and it was disappointing but what are you gunna do?

Sadie's missing teeth

Sadie lost two teeth this week in part thanks to Addie and a swift kick to the face. Sunday night, Addie accidentally kicked Sadie in the face knocking a tooth out. After Sadie finished crying about being kicked in the face she thanked Addie for kicking her tooth out. Addie also with the kick to the face loosened Sadie's other top tooth which she lost this morning. She pulled it out by herself and was very proud. She has now lost a total of 5 teeth! We told her for Christmas she should ask Santa for her two front teeth...

Asher and his helmet

Five or six years ago, Ryan got this replica Utah football helmet.  It is a real helmet and super heavy.  It has been in Asher's room on his dresser and the past two weeks he has been wearing it around the house.  He loves it and has to hold it up by the face mask so that he can see (and because it is so heavy).  We have to play catch with the football, he does it one handed because he has to hold the helmet up.  If it is not on his head, he is carrying it around in by the face mask.  This kid is so funny and cute! He makes us laugh constantly! I love this boy!

Soccer Addie

Addie played soccer for the first time this year and she did fairly well.  Soccer is a sport neither Ryan or I know nothing about but it was sure fun to watch.  They didn't "win" too many games (they don't keep score, just Addie) mainly because the girls on their team were the aggressive ones, not the boys.  She did have a great time and will continue on with the sport. She scored her first and only goal last Tuesday and of course I missed it since I was in class.  She was so excited though and we are very proud of her!

Easton - 6 Months

This is a month late being that Diet turns 7 months tomorrow....but oh well, we're busy, life is crazy!
Diet's six month checkup had him weighing in at 18.25 lbs (56%) and is 26.5 inches (43%). He is my only child that is below the 90th percentile in everything!  Diet is eating 2 containers of food a sitting, three times a day!  He loves his food but is still a skinny boy!  He has been sitting up on his own for almost three weeks and loves to sit and play with toys.  He LOVES Micky Mouse Clubhouse like his older brother and if it is on and I am trying to put him to sleep I have to go in another room because he wants to watch it.  He has two teeth and shows them all the time!  He is a very happy, easy going baby who loves to laugh and play.  We love our Diet and yes, we all call him Diet or Dieton.

First Day of School!

Addison started second grade this year and is absolutely LOVING it! This girl loves school and was seriously ready to go back a week after summer vacation started. I am glad that she loves school and hope it continues for quite some time. This year she has Mrs. Pratt and really likes her.
Sadie finally started Kindergarten today. She has been so ornery the past week since Addie has been in school and she had to wait. She was so excited to go and did awesome. I had to call her back to give me a kiss before she went to play this morning on the playground. Addie was so cute with her, telling her how excited she was that she was starting school and walking her to her playground. Sadie has Mrs. Ellsworth and so far, so good. I'm sure my little social butterfly will have no problem making new friends this year at school.

Diet

No, that is not Diet as in Diet Pepsi but Diet (Deet)as in Easton Dieter. Asher cannot say Easton, it comes out Deeton. I have started calling him Diet in which Asher replies "No Dieton!" Today I just realized that Diet is a fitting nickname since his middle name is Dieter. Anyway, Diet is 5 months old today! How quickly kids grow up and I am sad that he is growing so fast! He cut his first tooth last week and is working on his second one. He loves to move around in his walker while playing with toys and he loves his jumperoo. He still seems so small to all of us, and I don't realize he is as old as he is because he is so small. In comparison to Asher at 4 months, this is the difference between the two....
Easton Asher
Weight: 14.79 lbs (42%) 17.13 lbs (88%)
Height: 24.75 inches (38%) 26.5 inches (90%)

You can see that there is a big difference between the two. The girls were also bigger. Easton is our first kid that does not have the chubby face and body. He is our "skinny" kid and we are still surprised that we could make a skinny kid.

He still loves to cuddle to go to sleep and I hope that this doesn't change any time soon. He is a very happy, smiley little guy and will "talk" to anyone and always has a lot to say.

4th of July

For the 4th of July this year we went up to Idaho Falls to spend it with our friends Cam and Brit Christensen. We always have a great time when we go up there and their family has welcomed us in and made us feel as if we are part of their family. We slept through the parade (Easton is our alarm clock and he slept til 9:30!) but made it for the main event which is a BBQ at Grandpa Les' and Grandma Dar's. Yes, our kids call them grandma and grandpa and they treat our kids as if they are their true grandchildren. The kids swam on the ginormous slip and slide, in the pool and Grandpa Les mowed down part of the pasture and then flooded it and the kids played water soccer. It took Asher a bit to get up the nerve to go into the pasture (he's scared of the horses) but once he did, he had a great time. They also rode on the merry go round and the adults had a great time visiting and eating. Later we watched the fireworks and just had a great time!

Zonked!

Asher had been downstairs and I hadn't heard or seen him in a while, this is never a good thing where Asher is concerned. I asked Sadie to go downstairs and see what he was doing. She came back and told me that he was sleeping and I had to come see. Sure enough, he had fallen asleep. This is extremely rare for Asher to fall asleep anywhere else besides his bed, so he must have been really tired!

Lehi Round-up

This year our ward had to make a float for the Lehi Round-up. It turned out awesome and Addie and Sadie were picked to ride on it. They had a lot of fun and looked so cute!
