One Month Already!

Asher turned 1 month old today, and it has gone by way too fast. At his two week appt. he weighed 7lbs. 8ozs and was 22 inches long. By now he is most likely over eight pounds and is too long for his newborn sleepers and is in 3-6 month sleepers now. He is already fitting into some of his 3-6 month clothes but so were the girls at his age.
Asher is a very loud baby and I don't mean crying. He is a GRUNTER! He is so loud! He does not like his bed very much (he is sleeping in it now though) and so he tends to sleep between Ryan and I. Thursday night I had to take him into the guest bedroom to sleep because I was worried about him being too noisy for Ryan who has to get up early to go to work. I will have to get some video of him and his grunting to post.
For the time being he goes to school with me on Tues/Thurs mornings and usually sleeps the entire time, he does however grunt from time to time. Luckily everyone thinks it is cute and I am the only one who thinks it is excessively loud. I have only had to take him out twice in the three weeks that he has been coming with me so not too shabby.
Asher is starting to notice things around him and likes to look around. I don't know how well he can see yet but he does make eye contact occasionally. He does know when I am holding him because if he is crying and I pick him up or take him from whom ever is holding him at the time he quiets right down.
Addie and Sadie are very good big sisters to their little brother. Sadie will throw his dirty diapers away for me (Addie refuses to). Sadie also loves to watch me change him and bathe him and wants to help often. She carries her little stool around with her so she can see when he is on his change table. Addie loves to help and is actually pretty good. If he is crying she will get his plug (our word for binky) and put it in his mouth. She will also pick him up and hold him until I can get to him. She is also very gentle when laying him down, I was actually quite surprised. She is looking forward to when he gets bigger and she will be allowed to carry him while walking, right now it is strictly sitting down in order to hold him or pick him up and she has obeyed very well. They both request to hold him many times throughout the day.

Here are a few pictures that I took the other day of him.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ADDIE!

Well, Addie finally turned 5. She has been looking forward to this day since she turned 4 last year. It was an extremely long year for Addie as well as the rest of the family. Every time it was someone else's birthday she would get so sad and melt down because it wasn't her birthday.

We celebrated her birthday on Saturday with a party and "bowlin" as she calls it. We took a couple of her friends and all of the family on both sides bowling and it was a lot of fun for everyone. She was a little disappointed that she was not officially 5 on Saturday but handled it pretty well.

Today she was so excited when she woke up that she was finally 5. As I was getting her ready, I asked her what she wanted for dinner and she replied "the Chuck." Chuck -A-Rama is her favorite restaurant and since Ryan works up in Sandy we decided to meet for lunch at the Chuck. We invited Aunt Erin and Uncle Brett (Brett had not ever been to the Chuck and wanted to experience it with the kids, it was a hit!) The girls had their regular of Mac n Cheese, a roll and a crock of cinnamon honey butter (sweet butter) as they refer to it. Afterwards they had ice cream.

Tonight we celebrated with Aunt Erin and Uncle Brett with cupcakes (pinkalicious of course) and watched Madagascar 2.

I think she had a good birthday and she seems to have grown up in just a few days. We love you Addie you bring such joy to us with your crazy ideas and antics. I wished I had half her imagination when I was a kid. We are so grateful that she was sent to us.

Happy Birthday Addie, we love you!
