Aunt Erie got MARRIED!

Friday, July 25th, Aunt Erie married Uncle Brett in the Salt Lake Temple. It was a great day and a very hot one. Addie of course had a melt down when Aunt Erie wanted her bouquet back (for some reason Addie thought it was hers). And then when the bouquet was thrown and she did not catch it she of course had another one. It was a great day and we are so happy for Aunt Erie and Brett and wish them the best!

Independence Day

The Fourth of July is my favorite holiday, I don't know if it is because I love history or what exactly but it is my favorite. Every year, my family goes up to Sugar House Park to watch the fireworks. We usually get up there in the afternoon and have lunch and dinner, the kids play and we all have a good time.

This is my dad doing what he does best, tormenting Addie.

Number Three On the Way!!!

If you have noticed the widget on the side, I am sure that with wonderful deductive reasoning you now know that we are going to have our third child in February. I went to my first prenatal visit today and heard the heartbeat so I feel good about posting that we are expecting. Ryan and I are both very excited and neither of us care if it is a boy or a girl. I can't think anything but girl after having the first two, but a boy would be a lot of fun too. Sadie and this baby will be over three years apart and we feel that is a good space. Addie is very excited and says that it is a baby brother while Sadie says it is a baby sister. It will be interesting to see which one is right. Anyway, my due date is February 3rd so I am hoping for the last week in January. I am loading up fall semester with 17 credits so that in the spring I can take between 6 and 9. It will be interesting to be pregnant at school and I just hope that I will fit in the desks!

Sedgwick Family Reunion

Saturday was the Sedgwick Family Reunion at the Scera Park. It was a lot of fun, we rented the pool from 6:30-8:00 and it was awesome. We were able to go down the big slide as many times as we needed and the kids had so much room to play. It was a fun day and always good to see everyone that we don't get to on a regular basis. Can't wait until next year when we get to do it all again.

Sadie Loves her Ribs!

Sweet Baby Rays could use her for advertising

Sadie can eat a rack of ribs by herself, no problem. This weekend, we had a family reunion and had ribs. Sadie started off by eating all of Brett's ribs and then moved onto her own plate. She is truely her father's daughter...she will eat off the bone and then suck off all of the barbeque sauce until it is clean.

Mrs. Winkler a.k.a. Viola Swamp

So right now, I have a class that is required for my major. It is History of Civ 2 and is a 1000 level class. The only teacher who teaches it is straight from hell. She treats the class as if it were a 3000 or 4000 level class. Most of us in there are finishing up our majors and this is the last required class that we have put off taking. Anyway, the requirements that she has for us during this SEVEN WEEK course are ridiculous. Not even my 3000 or 4000 level classes require the amount of work that she is. We have to read two books that are around 700 pages each, Hitler's Mein Kampf, and Nelson Mandala's autobiography. We are then required to write a 1500 word "Reflection" paper which isn't bad but she wants us using at least 5 other sources. For those of you who are thinking this sounds like a research paper are not alone. We even asked her about that and her response was "it's a reflection paper with sources." Nice cover you crazy lady. Anyway, she is also Jewish which I think is fine but she constantly rips on Christians and how they try to convert everyone they see to Christianity. I find it interesting that she teaches at UVSC which is in conservative Utah County and the majority religion is LDS or in other words Christian. Anyway, just wanted to vent because she drives me nuts and thinks that she is hot stuff. If she is so good why does she teach only History of Civ 2, maybe because she is not as informed as she would like to think. One more thing, we were talking about South Africa today and there is a girl in my class who is from South Africa. She was telling the teacher that some of the things we were discussing were not how it is taught in South Africa, I mean she should know right? My teacher pretty much moved onto a different subject because I think she knew that she was wrong in what we were discussing. Hey come on, it is okay to be wrong especially when you have not lived in the region you are discussing. Rather than learn from the student, she moved onto something different. One more reason to not like her.
Also, she looks like Viola Swamp, that character in the book we all read in elementary Miss Nelson is Missing.

One week apart exactly

Cam and Brit's little baby Ryan was born March 6 and my nephew Alek was born March 13. They are exactly one week apart however, Ryan is 4-5 inches and 5 pounds heavier than Alek.
