6 Months Old and tubes....

Big Boy

Asher turned 6 months on July 22 and had his 6 month check-up that day. His stats are 21.lbs even (93%), 27.7 inches long(89%),and head circumference 45 cm (79%). He is a big BIG healthy baby boy. He is sitting up unassisted, loves to be in his jumperoo or his walker, can't get enough solids in him and is EXTREMELY happy! He is so much fun and really is such a happy boy. Wednesday, he went in for tubes. After 5 ear infections in his young 6 months, it was time. He did really well as the doctor was running a 1/2 hour behind, especially considering he hadn't eaten since 8:30 the night before. At 8:45 that morning, he went in and he was finished by 9:00. When the nurses came into tell us that he was awake and they were going to bring him to us, they warned us that he was really mad. We had gone through waking up from anesthesia with Sadie so we kind of knew what to expect. He has much more of a temper than Sadie did and cried in my arms for about 20 minutes before he finally fell back to sleep. When he woke up the second time, he was a bit better and finally settled down to eat and then he was happy again. He actually did pretty well all day except when he would burp. The air from his burp would effect his ears and he would cry for a bit after each one. It has been two days since he had the surgery and he is back to his old self.

We love this little guy so much and are so grateful that he is in our family.

New York, New York

We had a GREAT time in New York. Asher was a huge hit with everyone that saw him and got us a lot of perks along the way. We got 30% off at the Yankee Team store because one of the guys thought he was so cute and so he remembered how Ryan and him "went" to high school together. We had our picture taken and posted on the Yankee Website, we were able to skip the long line waiting to go through security at the airport. We were able to go to three games, see the fireworks over the Statue of Liberty, eat in Little Italy, eat at a fabulous Dominican Restaurant as well as Grey's Papaya. We visited Hoboken for the first time and had Gelati at Rita's (oh it was sooooo heavenly). Asher was so good the whole trip and so happy. He did great on the plane and at the games. When we got home though, he slept from 4 in the afternoon until 5 the next morning and he did it again two days later. He recovered well and we can't wait to go back and take the girls oh and Cam and Brit!
GO YANKEES!!!

Lost Teeth....

So Sadie had her tooth pulled in May after an incident with scooter handle bars. Addie lost her first tooth the day we got back from New York. I am so glad it hung on until we got home. She was so excited that she was going to get a visit from the tooth fairy and thanks to inflation, kids these days rake in A LOT more than what I got as a kid.
Tonight we celebrated Ryan's birthday, a day early because tomorrow he has meetings and I have a game (the championship game to be exact). Addie, Sadie and their cousin Oaklee were running around when Addie started screaming. I turned to see blood pouring out of her mouth and being Addie, it was SUPER dramatic. I mean, I know it hurt super bad but I had to yell at her to get her attention and try to settle her down so that we could get the story on what happened. Apparently Sadie's klutziness is rubbing off on Addie because she ran right into a door knob and there is tooth enamel embedded in the knob. Her top left tooth (same as Sadie's) was pushed back. Luckily I was able to push it forward and hopefully it will stay. She is already freaking out about going to the dentist because she doesn't want him to pull it. So crossing the fingers that it doesn't develop an abscess and have to be pulled. Besides, we are still paying off Sadie's extraction because insurance doesn't cover well on those types of things.

Sadie will have her "space" for A LOT longer than Addie

Sadie....glutton for punishment

Addie finally caught up with her little sister

After a "run in" with the door knob

Poor little girl....look at that fat lip, she can hardly talk and the worse thing,
she can't drink her chocolate milk out of a sippy cup.

Sedgwick Family Reunion

A couple weeks ago, we had the Sedgwick Family reunion at the Scera Park and pool. We always rent out the pool after 6:00 for a couple of hours. We got to the park around 3:00 to visit and eat dinner. They always have a silent auction to raise money for the next years reunion and this year, Addie found something that she just HAD to have. She put her name on the list and would not leave that spot in fear that someone else was going to out bid her. She stood by it for almost two hours until finally I had to write my name under hers so that we would be sure and get it. That satisfied her and she finally left her spot so she could eat. During all this, Sadie and her cousin Oaklee had been playing at the playground that was near our pavilion. I was keeping an eye on them, or so I thought. Brent, Ryan's brother and Oaklee's dad decided to walk over to the playground because he couldn't see them at the moment. He came back and said that he couldn't find them, that they were not at the playground. I immediately ran to the bathroom's and was in the process of running down the isle throwing open stall doors looking for them when a lady came in and asked what was wrong. I told her my two three year olds had disappeared from the playground. She immediately asked what they were wearing and their names and had her whole group immediately looking for them too. I ran the whole park twice with no problems because my adrenaline was pumping so high. I kept telling myself that we were going to find them and that no one had taken them. I was not going to be the out of control parent running, screaming and crying because I knew that would just make it worse. Ryan had this feeling that they had gone to the pool so he went over there and just as he walked in the gate, he heard a page saying that Oaklee was looking for her daddy Brent. Ryan ran and found Oaklee and asked where Sadie was. Sadie was swimming in the pool without a care in the world. They had walked through the gate, dropped their clothes (swimsuits were underneath) and jumped into the pool. Luckily Oaklee thought that Brent was lost so she went up to a life guard and told him that. We were so grateful that we found them and had a long talk about not going anywhere without telling mom and dad. We didn't have the heart to get mad because we were so relieved to have found them. The other exciting thing that happened at the reunion was one of Ryan's cousins from Kansas fell about 15 feet out of a tree and luckily only broke his arm. It was broken so bad however that they had to put him out in order to set it.

Other than those two exciting events, the reunion was relatively calm and yes, Addie did win her prize that she bid on.
