He's not fat....he's chubby.

Those are the words that my doctor said to me today. I took Asher in because he was showing all the normal signs of an ear infection and I wanted to get it cleared up before we go to New York next week. Sure enough, ear infection #4. I was in the process of changing his bum when the doctor came in so I asked him if it was normal for Asher's little "unit" to be somewhat inverted and if it was, is it because he is so fat. My doctor was so funny and I seriously think that he thought Asher's feelings were going to be hurt because his mom called him fat. Anyway, it turns out it is totally normal (whew) and he sees it a lot in little boys his age and it is because he is so chubby. Anyway, my chubby boy weighed in at 19lbs 8 ozs today at his appt (he turned 5 months on Mon). He is so FREAKING huge, and I absolutely love it. I had to move him out of the infant car seat because it was too heavy to lug him around in it. This does however make it hard when we go places. On Saturday, we went to three different stores to grocery shop and I carried him in the baby bjorn at all three. He hasn't totally mastered sitting up yet and so shopping carts are still a little hard. Anyway, because he is such a tub, my back hurts so bad and I can't stand completely straight. Ryan says I walk like an old lady and that is exactly what I look like.

Asher is up to three solid feedings a day, we were going through two Costco cans of formula in less than two weeks, so in order to try and make those last a little longer, we moved him to three feedings a day. He LOVES his food, big surprise I know.

Asher loves to be in his walker and can move forward, backwards and sideways. He also loves his Jumperoo and will jump in it until he tires himself out. He loves to play with toys and will lay on the floor and go from side to side grabbing his toys and playing with them.

He really is such a good baby, who even when he has ear infections still sleeps through the night. He loves his sisters and loves to sit between them in the car. They are both really good with him and love to make him laugh and squeal.

Addie is a fantastic big sister and is so good to feed him his bottle at home and in the car.

So that is the latest on my GINORMOUS baby boy.

Today is my last day of Spanish and I should be studying but I really am to the point where I am burnt out and I am having a really hard time caring. I can't wait till I can go to bed the same time as Ryan instead of 4 hours later. I am excited to be able to get the ironing done on a weekly basis rather than having to iron a months worth of clothes. I am excited to not have to take my kids somewhere different every day so I can go to school. (Thanks so much to Nicole and my sisters for watching my kids and taking such wonderful care of them. It is so nice to leave them with you guys and not have to worry about them at all because I know they are being treated as if they are your own.) They really do well and don't complain, but I am looking forward to being able to go to the pool daily and just hang out and chill and not have to hurry every morning to get everyone out the door and then getting home right before Ryan gets home.
I look forward to being able to make dinner and all in all just getting things together and not feeling so scattered.
So YEAH, here is to two whole months of no school! This is the biggest break that I have had in three years, but it was totally worth it because I will graduate in the spring.

NYC HERE WE COME!!!

I just had to post that Ryan, Asher and I are going to NYC July 2-6. We wanted to take the girls but the flight would have cost WAY too much so they are staying with my sister Amber and are SUPER excited to be doing so. Ryan had a credit on Delta that he originally thought he had to use by July 9th. We are going on a cruise next May for our 10 year anniversary and we were going to use that for our flights. When Ryan called to use it, he found out that travel had to be completed by July 9th. So NYC was the natural choice. Ryan served his mission there and we have visited 3 times together and I went once by myself when Amber was a nanny in Connecticut. So this will be my 5th trip and I feel that I know my way around pretty well, I have the subway figured out, it is not too hard as long as you know if you need to go uptown or downtown you are usually good. I feel guilty leaving the girls over the 4th of July since they love this holiday. They don't care though since they will be going to Sugarhouse park with my parents and sisters. As long as they are with Grandma Val, they really don't need mom. I am excited to take Asher with us and WAY excited to go to the new Yankee Stadium.
