3 Months!

Asher turned 3 months last week and I am finally getting around to posting something about it. He weighs in at an astounding 15lbs 8ozs! He is so heavy that my arms just ache if I have to carry him around too much. He is wearing 6-12 month clothes....some Alek just grew out of a few months ago. He is full of smiles and giggles and he loves to lay on his play mat and try to grab his toys. He HATES to be in his car seat which makes my occupation a little hard right now. Luckily Addie is quite the little mother and can usually calm his screams. He has grown out of the colic - spit up stage and is for the most part a happy little guy. He has been sleeping through the night for over a month now which is wonderful for me. We love him to death and are so grateful that he is with us.

Loves to scoot in his walker and try to grab his toys.

Addie wants to be in all the pictures.

Stitches are OUT!

Friday I took Sadie down to where my sister Kimberlee works so she could take her stitches out (and I didn't have to pay a co-pay). Sadie did so good and before we went in there she told me that she wasn't going to cry. Well she cried just a little because the first one was tight and it pulled at her skin. I don't blame her for crying a little and even though that first one hurt, she didn't pull her hand away but let Kimberlee continue to take them out. When it was all over she got a "Pet Shop" band aid, a bracelet and a box of crayons. She was so good and so brave and as much as I want this to be the last time we have to get stitches, I have a feeling that with Sadie we are in for many more.

I Like Butta'

My Sadie Woo Woo is a huge fan of butter. "I like butta" is the phrase she tends to use a lot lately and she says it in her cute little voice in her newly developed accent which is a cross between east coast and southern drawl. When I make macaroni and cheese, after it is all mixed she wants the pat of butter that has not fully melted. I could give Sadie a stick of butta' and she would be in heaven.

Photo Shoot

Today my wonderful sister-in-law Brittney took pics of my kids as well as my two nephews. She did an AWESOME job and I am so happy with how they turned out. Thanks again Brit, we have needed these for so long and we LOVE them!

This is my favorite!

Check up for Asher....Stitches for Sadie

Today was Asher's 2 month checkup and he weighed in at an astounding 13.8 lbs (75th percentile) and is 24 1/2 inches long (95th percentile)! He is a big boy and is very healthy other than his double ear infection. I figured he was going to have ear infections because he has been congested for 2 1/2 weeks. He was still sleeping well so he is either very tough or it wasn't super painful.

Ashman catching up with the Rykman

After we got home from the Dr. the kids were playing in the backyard. Just as I was going to get them for dinner, I heard Sadie scream and keep screaming. I ran to her and she was dripping blood from her hand. There was so much blood that I couldn't tell where she was cut. When I washed off her hand I found a 1 inch gash in the palm of her hand. My neighbor came over because he had heard her screaming to see if she was okay. I showed him her hand and asked if he thought she needed stitches. He looked at it and said he could see "meat" and so yes she would need stitches. Of course this happens with Ryan out of town and I am watching my neighbor boy so I can't fit everyone in my vehicle. My neighbor was nice enough to say Addie and Hayze could stay at his house until my parents got to my house.

Luckily I was able to take her to an urgent care and save myself 75 bucks since it was after hours. She was so brave and other than when they had to numb her hand with the syringe, she was pretty calm and did such a good job. I don't blame her for screaming when they numbed her hand, I would have probably been crying.
All the nurses that were there fell in love with her because she was so cute with them after her hand was numb and when it was all stitched up (6 total) she was very interested in the stitches. I however had to sit down at that point, it was making me light headed and nauseous. The nurse wrapped her hand in purple her favorite color and she got fruit snacks, stickers and a purple ring.
After it was done I asked her what she wanted as a prize for being so brave and her reply was purple and blue finger polish.

She is doing really well now, of course her hand is still numb so we will see how tomorrow goes.

Smiley Boy

So Asher has been smiling at people for a little while but I just never got around to taking pictures. He has been sick for a month now and the Dr. and nurses keep telling me that there is nothing I can give him that it is just viral. It is so frustrating because he is so congested that he struggles to eat and sleep. He slept most of the day on Wednesday so by that evening, he was really happy because he felt better, thus the pics.
Asher is growing so much so fast, he is starting to really fill out. He goes in for his two month check up on Tuesday (yes I am a few weeks late, oh well) so we will see how much he weighs. I am guessing 12 lbs or more. His hair has really lightened up and is now a nice auburn color. Everyday that I look at him he looks more and more like I did as a baby, it is so fun to see.
